Description

The data release contains CO2, temperature and relative humidity measurements from sensor units operated in the Carbosense sensor network.
The measurements originate from a Sensirion SHT21 sensor located inside the sensor unit close to the opening, the CO2 measurements from a Senseair LP8 NDIR CO2 Sensor.
The sensor unit is depicted in image "Sensor_unit.jpg". A typical deployment of a sensor unit is shown in image "Sensor_unit_deployed.jpg".
Information about the SHT21 sensor can be found in "Sensirion_Humidity_Sensors_SHT21_Datasheet.pdf" or directly on the manufacturers webpage. Information on Senseair LP8 is found on https://senseair.com/products/power-counts/lp8/. The measurements represent 10 minute averages. The timestamp refers to the beginning of the 10 minute interval and is aligned to the minute. The measurement intervals are not aligned to a specific time pattern. Therefore, the time lag of the interval series relative to the full hour is different for each sensor. The sensor units transmit the data by LoRaWAN. Some single measurements can be missing when the transmission did not succeed.

The Carbosense network is a CO2 sensor network covering the whole of Switzerland. The network consists of three classes of CO2 sensors: laser spectrometers, low-cost instruments (SenseAir HPP) and low-cost sensors (SenseAir LP8). The sensor network is shown in "CarboSense_MAP_20190724.jpg".
